A peek into our habits and lifestyle

Busy busy busy! I’ve been writing a lot these days, staring at the computer for many hours, planning for upcoming projects and multi tasking between current projects. While exhausting my brains, I try very hard to maintain 8 hours of sleep a day, eating lots of fruits and veggies and exercising regularly. Thankfully I’ve not strayed too far from that.

Terence and I have an unspoken mutual pact to keep each other in check with healthy living and balanced schedules. Here’s a peek into some good habits we’ve adopted in the Ooi household:

  • Breakfast is a must! Both the meal and the time spent just before we head off to work.
  • Stock up on fruits! (veggies tend to wither in our fridge since we don’t cook as much as we would like to)
  • Drink fruit juices (no extra sugar added juices are ideal, although our current favourite is purple carrot from VeggieGood)
  • Quality time together, we reserve at least 2-3 nights of the week of time alone.
  • Quiet time, our lifeline and refuge. We spend time with God together as a couple and individually.
  • Family time, we spend equal time with both families, hopping between houses for dinners every once a week.
  • Time alone. Terence will do his thing (ie. Futsal, dinner with buddies) and I’d do mine (ie. Dinner with friends, massages, a good read and a cuppa)
  • Exercise exercise exercise! I refuse to join a gym for varied reasons. Time is one of them and the other is because I enjoy exercising with my hubby!
  • Housework. We tackle this every week to make sure it doesn’t pile up. From washing to mopping to ironing. Terence is a great househusband!
  • A good dinner every week. It’s usually on Saturdays. We’d explore new eateries, revisit those with our favourite delights or randomly pick one.
