Fourth time rafting... and counting!

With two months more to the wedding, I find myself doing some adventure sport with incredible high risk of unnecessary bruises or cuts. With a promise to Terence and mom to be extremely careful, I headed off to Kuala Kubu Bharu. Living on the edge if I may put it.

One of those rare weekends where Terence and I had separate agenda’s. While he sacrifically went to Broga to shed some sweat and energy, I was off to Sg. Selangor for my fourth white water rafting adventure. Terence had selflessly decline to join us as he had to build our wedding arch with some of his boys (Such chivalry is hard to find!) Thank you dear!

My last round of rafting in Gopeng had been extremely disappointing, hence I had no major expectations and ventured in it head on. Deeply hoping that the heavy rain for the past week would raise the water level to extraordinary height! Ha! To my dismay, we heard from the guide that even though it rained in KL, it was dry as pie in KKB.

Briefing before the ride

Psyching myself and the newbie rafters around me, we strapped ourselves and huddled into the raft. Gushing torrents and white washed boulders were far from sight. Calm rivers greeted us as we practiced our strokes. I’d let the pictures tell the rest of the story…

Whoosh! the 1st Canyon was a thrill...

Paddle forward!

Now you see them, now you don't!

The last canyon

Our raft capsized - phew! Our guide sabotaged us, thankfully I was sitting with him, safe from danger:)

Paddle up!

Guys tipping th raft!

Chicken Drop - a 5ft drop which was incredibly thrilling

YEAH!

Body surfing - this is Manesh with his weird looking goggles!

Finally the ever welcoming waterfall after all the 'hard work' paddling:)
