In the nick of time

Turned on the ignition….
Silence.
Not even a sputter.
Not again!!!

The last time this happened, I was on the verge of tears and on the brink of a bucket of tears. My body aching and my mind was all ready to REST. It had been a long energy draining 8 hours, all I wanted was just to R & R. That episode brought my dad whizzing all the way to Subang to restart my engine. I was dumbfounded to find out that all he did was jingle some wires and knock on some bolts and my ‘blue baby’ came alive! If I knew it was that simple I would have attempted it myself.

So it was yesterday
Turned on the ignition….
Silence.
Not even a sputter.
Aha! This time I know what to do!

Flipped the bonnet open, jingled the same wires and knocked extra hard on the same bolts. I knew this time I had it all under control. Confident to hear the engine fire up, I turned the ignition and all I heard was the wind blowing outside. My ‘blue baby’ is DEAD! Oh no! It’s been 4 days since I attended to her and now she decides to play dead. I was caught between an appointment and reviving her. But how? Then amidst the how’s, the roar of dad’s car, resonated in rescue. Flipped open the bonnets, connected some wires and revived my ‘baby’! Was on time for my appointment but I learnt that unlike dogs where you teach them tricks and they play along with you, four wheelers teach themselves tricks and play them on you. So in order to turn the tables around, I guess I’d have to be trained on some tricks myself (women regardless)!
