Busy and enjoying every bit of it!

Already halfway into the first month of 2008 and since the start there have been quite a lot of changes. I personally don’t’ believe in resolutions as they are really too long term goals for me. But I do see each day as a turning point of which new steps are taken and if I slip and fall, by the grace of God I pick myself up, shake the dirt off and journey on. And I do see each day as gift from God and at the end of each day, its wrapped and given back to Him.

Personally 2007 gathered herself many accomplishments and a fair share of disappointments, nonetheless I hold my head up high and confidently say that ‘My Redeemer lives and that in itself is more than enough for me’.

This year both Terence and I are extremely excited for the new changes and exciting challenges in our lives (individually and as a couple). And we are extremely busy taken that we have only 12 more weeks to go before the big day! It doesn’t discount the fact that we have full time jobs and the weekends packed with Rangers stuff (it’s all a joy but sometimes pulls the hair right outta its socket!)

Here are a few updates from our hectic but utterly amazing schedules:

  • Renovation on our little sanctuary – Met up with our skilled contractor, brought in workers, bought tiles, fixtures, wall paper and paint and work started on our abode last month. It’s ¾ way done and we’re very impressed with the progress. Next up lights shopping and painting! We’d need all the help we can get…
  • Invitation designing and creative initiatives – Our personal designer (Josh, of course) has been working his socks off creating our invites for us. Aside from that, he’s also editing our pre-wedding shots. So sweet! Love you bro!
  • Marriage counseling – We have the amazing privilege to journey with a trusted couple who is both our friends, partners in ministry, parents of 5 incredible children and people whom we look up to. The sessions have been very insightful indeed.
  • Other wedding details – Met up with our decorator, toiled over plenty of ideas and she detailed us through how the entire place will look like on that day. Can’t wait! Some deco will be handmade and painstakingly designed by our friends – work is still in progress, unfortunately cannot be unveiled until the day:)
  • Rangers – We’re going white water rafting in a week! (This will be my last adventure activity till the wedding :) Then there’s Discovery Slumber Party and Outpost Camp just round the corner! Didn’t I say hectic?! Undoubtedly amazing too!

Amidst the whirlwind of events, God comes through the stillness and quietness of my quiet time. It’s easy to be drowned in happenings but I don’t wanna look back and regret if I had gushed through this season of my life and not stopping to grasp the greater meaning of stepping from courtship into marriage. Both Terence and I have been so blessed by the generous giving of our friends and family… wedding don’t just bring 2 people together. It pulls people together into a closer knit. And lest I forget that life isn’t just about me, or Terence or even the people surrounding us – it’s about the bigger world that He holds in His hands.

Dear Deborah

Just want to wish you all the blessing of the Lord on both of you as you both journey through these days of prepartion.

May HE continue to watch over you
and Hide you Under the shadow of His wings.

May both of you have a blessed and strong marriage and be a sign to the generation to come.

God bless you and keep you.
