Come and gone

It’s always the case when you have family members scattered all over the world and when they return to homeland for a visit, all daily schedules come to halt and special plans are made to accommodate them. This has been partly what we have been busy with for the past 2 weeks as the Rayners made a trip from UK for a 2 week break here.

The Rayners are Uncle Philip, Aunty Kim (Terence’s aunty) and Antony and they have not been back for the past 8 years. Imagine the excitement of getting them to taste, feel and bask in everything Malaysian. The Ooi’s managed to cover their menu with street food, seafood, Chinese fine dining, Italian, western all except mamak. With so much to eat, they even brought back a bag of cold frozen pre packed load of char siew pau, siew mai, curry puffs and other Malaysian favourites.

Now that they are back in UK, I must say that I miss the fellowship we had. Having only heard about them from the Ooi’s, meeting them was quite a nervy experience. I guess this is what happens when we meet new “in-laws” all the time. It turned out just fine and we had quite a blast. The waves and turns of family life is a great adventure.
