A turn of events,
A change of name,
A lil something on my finger
And I gave my heart away...
Some may have heard it from friends, while others have gotten sms-es or emails from either Terence or myself. So here's the 24th of May by the one who got hitched.
Terence and I were supposed to go on a little cruise at PutraJaya where we’d have dinner served onboard. I didn’t have much expectation on the cruise, as I thought, how lavish can it be, after all it’s just Putra Jaya’s lake! Nonetheless it’s the company not the place. So I was excited because it’s 2 years since we embarked on this journey of courtship.
Terence then told me prior to Thursday that we’d be doing some rowing before dinner, since the last time we were there, the row boat shed was closed. So I agreed. Dressed comfortably yet suitable for the occasion, there we headed. Renting our Walker Bay (the name of the row boat) and drifting off into the middle of the lake. Before we clambered on the Walker Bay, Terence had already an envelope in his hands. He cautioned me to hold it carefully, not to tilt it or to feel it. At this point I was getting suspicious! So while he wasn’t looking, my itchy fingers went feeling at every corner of the envelope (maybe, just maybe I might touch something cylinder and small). But there wasn’t anything, my suspicion was wrong :( Antenna’s still up tho!
When we came to the middle of the lake, he asked me to open the envelope and enjoy it. By gosh, it was a little scrapbook of messages, memories and pictures beautifully designed and made by him! I still thought the ring might be attached to the last page or something. I took my time looking through those pages and when I had come to the last part (with no ring in sight), he asked me to look up. He had the boat perfectly maneuvered and there before me were heaps of people. Initially I thought they were strangers but it finally dawn on me that they were family and friends. About 15 of them were holding pla cards and at every signal they would flip those cards. The words written on the cards said “I love you sweetheart, The greatest of all this is LOVE, Will you marry me?” I was utterly dumbfounded. I turned to look at Terence, and he gave me a huge smile, then he held my hand and said a few words… waited for my yes… and slipped the ring into my finger. I was dazed and all I could think about was “How did he pull such a huge episode up?!” A few seconds later I found 3 cameras snapping away in the bushes just next to our row boat. Then another 2 videographers appeared, and finally I saw the crew of close to 30 people on the jetty! Overwhelming is the word! I guess tho my antenna’s were up, I was still very oblivious to have not had an inkling of this. The little cruise dining was a hoax I soon found out but the night was lovely with family and friends as company. We had so much food it felt like a banquet!
So yeah, I’m engaged now and we enjoy introducing each other as my fiancĂ©. No words can express how much I treasure this God given relationship. As always, God first in all things and He will put every thing into perfection in all areas of our lives. He truly has journeyed with us (as individuals and as a couple) every step of the way. Where would we be without Him?
For all that I felt on Thursday and the next morning… even up till now – it’s a reminder of how great our Father’s love is for all of us. If one other brother or sister in Christ can love someone so much (vice versa), how much more does our Father in heaven love us?! Immeasurable indeed! So teach me to love You more Lord, so that I can love others even more.
So that's my part of the story:)
