Fruits of my labor

"Parents, you have to understand that speech and drama is a plant of slow growth - I assure that you will see results, but be patient and journey along with your child as I guide them through”

It’s about fun, fun and more fun to the kids, but it’s about results, results and MORE results for the parents who are paying a hefty few hundred for my speech and drama classes. Personally, I find fulfillment not in their monthly fees but in the little seeds that I’ve seen growing in them. Two children (among the others) have been with me since the school opened. They joined my class as quiet, docile, unassumingly shy children, unable to express or even utter a full sentence with confidence. They seem like to me like reclusive children from a rich family who doesn’t really play with their neighbourhood friends But over the months, I have proven myself wrong and found myself making far fetched goals for them.

Last night I had a small Parent Teacher Gathering for them to showcase some poems and a story to their parents. And my heart glowed watching them stand in absolute confidence reciting those poems. Mind you, they memorized four pages or poems and a full story. And their age… SIX!

Note to self: Teachers can either resurrect a seed within a child or kill the possibility of even seeing a plant spring forth.
