Tales of Patches and the Ballerina

'And they lived happily ever after'... such is the predicted ending of most fairy tales, but when the Author and the Crafter of LOVE pens the story, this is an inevitable and guaranteed ending.

Such is this one that took place about a week ago... It was held in a nicely manicured park called ‘Kiara Park’. Superbly decorated with African Daisies, Roses, tea light candles, lanterns, pretty looking hanging mobiles and lots of love in the air. Canopies were erected a day before the wedding, the dinner place was set, rose petals sprinkled on the grass – it was time for the garden wedding. So here's the story from the bridesmaid point of view…

SUNDAY: 6th November, 2005
1230pm
Reach Eastin Hotel
1245pm
Florist calls and we headed down to collect corsages and bouquets from the florist
1255pm
Decided we need to rest for a bit, Adeline (the bride) was still busy sms-ing and receiving phone calls, I updated myself with the daily news
105pm
Adeline tries to get some shut eye
115pm
I decided to get some rest
150pm
RING RING Ade gets a phone call and I bolted up from sleep
155pm
“Oh my, it’s so late already!” “Ya, you better shower before the makeup artist and hair stylist arrives”
200pm
*Doorbell rings* Make up artist
203pm
*Doorbell rings again* Hair stylist
210pm
Ade starts her makeup session, as Bobby Brown’s make-up artist slather, brush, powder Ade’s face. The makeup artist had a case full of stuff, it was wonder how she remembers what to put on first, next and later.
250pm
Ade looks stunning!!! Time for the hair now…
255pm
I take my long relaxing shower before diving into the hoo ha business of getting ready.
315pm
My own make up artist aka Genevieve Teoh shows up and helps me out in this area I’m clueless about.
400pm
It was time to get dressed, both Ade and I, I helped her into her totally gorgeous gown, pulled the delicate zip up and both of us stared into the mirror. (it was quite a moment) Then I got into mine and we were ready, just waiting for the Beamer to pick us up.
430pm
Ade’s family came streaming with half frozen faces of awe as they caught a glimpse of the wife to be.
450pm
It was time to go and no more delays, pictures all taken and the groom is anxiously waiting. We caroused down the hotel lobby with a million other stares and then finally stashed in car away from lingering gazes.
515pm
We were on time waiting for the ceremony to start (the car is suppose to cruise in slowly after the opening dance, we had it all planned, timed and cued). It’s just a matter of waiting now.
530pm
Ade looks at me with her eyes crystal clear, I asked “What’s the matter?” She said “My heart just started beating real fast” Signs of nervous anticipation, 10 times greater then butterflies in your stomach. I just turned to her and said “Yup this is it, the moment you’ve been waiting for, a God given one”
545pm
Peering through the car windows, guests made their way in one after the other. Each peeking in to steal a stare at the gorgeous bride. (Hahaha I felt like a fish in a tank, except that I’m breathing through my nose and I’m not exactly given the liberty to swim from side to side, coz i can't expect to be fidgetty when i'm suppose to keep the bride calm)
556pm
Ade’s phone rings, we are given the cue to GO and we’re on the roll! The opening dance went smoothly and the next song came through the speakers, our car wheeled slowly down the narrow driveway as we made our way closer to the red carpet.
600pm
The rest was history as Ade walked down the aisle to meet her sweetheart, now husband – Pastor Sam.

What can I say? I’m bubbling with happiness for them. For Greater things ahead and for His will to fully unfold in their lives. Only greater things, only greater heights because two are better than one. Presenting to you snippets of the lovely evening…

A trillion pictures were taken that evening with 5 assigned photograhers to capture every angle and corner.

Under the canopy of nicely laid dinner tables, the guests awaits the arrival of the bride...
