Sun Shiny Saturday at Putrajaya!

Sitting in my office on Friday morning, I thought to myself the day was glowing awesome but I was stuck to my little cubicle typing away having to WORK! The morning flew by then came the afternoon when I stepped out for lunch and realized that I couldn’t bear being confined any longer. What could I do? Walk out of my office? No way! So I decided that Saturday would soothe my sunny craving…

Putrajaya here I come! Laid out the picnic blanket and plunked myself down. Ahhhhh sweet surreal. The place was quiet and the view was charming. Got down to reading, journaling and typing… time flew by in an instant. Would have stayed longer if the multitude of ants had not decided to invade my peaceful milieu! Arghhh…. small, tiny, minute, gigantic, enormous, black and brown… they came in all sizes and colours! Oh well! At least I prefer them to Mozzies… the M’s would have sent me hysterically scratching and hitting!

After packing up… decided to take some pics since we went all the way there and the view was quite a splendour.

Just before we left, my eyes caught some pretty flowers and a thought came to mind. This short little excerpt of the tiny nuggets dropped into my mind and heart is what i gathered from these few beauties...

The little paved brick lane that we were walking on was just an ordinary pathway, the foliage on the right and left was nothing to shout about and all I wanted to do was get to the car and blast the aircon cause i was already all sweaty. Then suddenly stopping right in my tracks these flowers caught my attention. They’re bloom was not exactly astonishing, but the fact that their beauty lie silently tucked away and contented in their surrounding (which made them literally blend into the extensive greens around) struck me. I asked for the camera and snapped away. The pictures aren’t fantastic if compare to the quality of those my bro or dad would snap but I’m happy with it : )

And then I thought about the silent beauty of this flowers and how much alike it is to our lives. The silent things in life are sometimes the most beautiful things too. Their beauty is not boisterous, instead it’s patient in waiting till it is being noticed. It's not flamboyant as the sashaying of super models down the runway or of the slick sports cars that zoom pass the highways.

Instead it resembles the simpleness of everyday day life. Like how the clothes get ironed daily or how I never leave the house without a goodbye kiss from my mom. Or like the comfort of having my sisterly talks or the rolling laughter we generate each time we start. Or the fact that my dad’s my buddy or that my bro is constantly giving. Or the beauty of seeing my grandma’s life unfold every single day and still having the passion for His name. Or the beauty of friendship that remains a mystery and a treasure so rich. Such is the beauty that’s not loud or self proclaiming, it just perpetually blooms and when we catch it just takes over the patch of green that surrounds it.

Ahhh… it’s been a long time since I really had a simple Saturday free, this one was really fulfilling and it certainly quenched my craving of a sun shiny afternoon at the park.
