Walking up the stairs and entering into my office, i got on to my daily routine of "preparing my desk" for work. Whipped out my mobile, placed it in my sqausy celery phone holder, took out my thumbdrive and switched on the computer. While waiting for the BOX to awakened, it's time for my cuppa and greeting my colleagues Selamat Pagi in pantry where they'd usually be chomping down their nasi lemak.
Back to my cubicle, got straight to online radio and then my reminder rang! Was suppose to send an important email to my boss. Now this is where my skepticism and second thoughts of technology came in.
Eeek technology is really unreliable! I couldn't excess my hotmail account. No matter what and how i tried. Was thinking of the important emails i had in my inbox and the address i've accumulated over the years, how now brown cow?! My efforts were as such:
- Open new window, open another and yet another
- Close all windows and open new window
- Sign out of MSN and sign in again
- Re-start the BOX
- Sign in again and repeated 1 to 3 (no avail!)
- Shut down!
- All over again from 1 to 3
- Initiate chat with my bro (only 'techy' person online) - he wasn't much of a help, but thanks neways! :)
- Give up and opened a used my gmail account (have not and was not planning to use it)
- Oh well, at least the task was done but my skepticism remain like a the layer of coagulated oil when you take a bowl of bah kut teh out of the fridge.
I realize that my level of trust for techy stuff has increased exponentially since being forced to sit in front of the BOX from 830-5 every day. Whilst it's been an interesting discovery, i couldn't help but sink into the security of the classic pen and paper.
Note: KDU-ans you'd probably remember the same episode Ms. Karen experience a few years back whilst trying to present to us one of her lectures:)
