Ahhh.... just came back from a much needed weekend of rest. Penang was absolutely beautiful! I don't remember it to be that pristine and somewhat untouched. Was taken in Park Royal... sunset! wow... wonder what Heaven looks like?! (if this is already so ahhhh)
Taking off on Friday evening...the journey there was a testimony in itself! A quarter-way into the drive it started pouring like cats and dogs and to add to the down pour… the car wipers suddenly jammed stop! It ceased moving midway blocking the view on windscreen. As if in a movie, giant drops and thunderous splatters… But God’s hands were upon the us. Ahhh finally reaching Penang in 4 plus hours, our holiday just snowballed from there.
Up to Penang Hill on Sat morning, felt as if we were in a foreign land. It’s BEAUTIFUL!!! The clouds inched in towards us and in no time we were walking in the thickness of the mist. Finally reaching the peak, the clouds drew back and wahla! Penang at 2k ft! Splendid!
As Penang is known for its gastronomy, we feasted on Swatow Lanes ice kacang tambah ciku, popiah… also Nasi Kandar, Rojak and a must Char Kuey Teow. The craziest and ultimate makan fest was in Park Royal on Sat night. Seated for RM108 buffet, you would expect nothing less than lobsters, oysters, crab, lamb, delicate French desserts, yummy sushi and an array of other scrumptious dishes. Ohhhh I was ecstatic at the sight of the salad spread.. man oh man! Sets a SMILE on my face at the thought of it!
Thank You Lord for the blessing of friends and the weekend. Not the food that mattered (it was a bonus), neither the place (although breathtaking) … it was the fellowship and friends that made the diff. Esp. things sown in the spirit. The rest are all incidental :)
