A shot of adrenaline

Day 3- Honeymoon

Have you ever wondered how it felt to be in a washing machine?! Try Zorbing! What’s that? New Zealand (namely Rotorua) is known for adventure sports, it’s also known for creating thrilling and instant adrenaline thrills such as zorbing. With acres of rolling hills, who would have thought of this crazy idea of a huge plastic bouncy ball rolling down the hill? A weird looking thing amidst the lush green landscapes but it’s a lot of fun.

Zorb balls tumbling down the hill

Inside the capsule of a zorb ball

We got geared up in swim wear and headed up the hill where the rolling began. They filled the ball with water, we jumped in, and they zipped up the entrance and pushed the ball down the hill. The ride lasted about 15 seconds but it was pure FUN! Water splashing, tumbling, swooshing all over and lots of laughing. By the time we reached the bottom, our stomachs were aching from all the laughing!

Mental note 1: I can’t believe we paid $90 just to tumble down a hill! But no regrets whatsoever!
Mental note 2: Malaysia should really have something like that instead of those boring rides in Sunway Lagoon.

It's okay to act like kids once in a while

Next up for something less thrilling, we headed up to the highest point in Rotorua on a cabled gondola. The view is nothing less than what we expected, overlooking acres of the dazzling lake and mountainous landscapes. Surprisingly even at the top these Kiwis managed to add a little excitement.

Luge! If you watched the last season of Amazing Race Asia, you would remember the contestants riding down the hill in a bumper car like thing, twisting and turning corners. That’s what luging is. We ‘drove’ down steep twisted roads with only our brakes to keep us from flipping off the hill. After the ride we thought to ourselves, how lethal the rides could be since those luge ‘cars’ could go up to 30km/hr! A slight mishandling of the steering and we’d be flying off the side of the hill! Rides are only at NZ$7.50 including a car lift (cable car without windows) back up to the hill.

The gondola one way, and the sky-lift chair the other

A little more of our NZ to tease your eye:

Our morning BIG breakfast. One plate for is enough for two small-tummy Malaysians

Pastor Henry said at our wedding that there'll be more kisses to come after the first kiss

Terence: Darling... please, please...let me stop the car here so I can take some pictures (some of our many stop-the-car-take-some-pictures-moments)

We’re checked in a Kiwi Paka YHA Rotorua and signing off for the day with much to thank God… More of NZ goodness soon! You should check out our Day 4... SOON!
