Kia Ora, people!

Day 1- Honeymoon

Aaah… New Zealand soil tastes so good (erm not literally)

We spent the first day resting, resting and more resting (post wedding syndrome!). Our schedule since the 6th of April has turned a little hay-wire due to amount of planning and of course nerve-wrecking moments. On day one, we stayed with a friend’s family, some of you know Aaron Tai…

His mum, Aunty Jeannette, cooked us a hearty 3 course meal of creamy mushroom served with garlic bread, chunky succulent pork chops and baklava for dessert. She even had sparkling juice to celebrate! What hospitality:)

Over the dinner table... Toast!

The weather here is somewhat chilly at night, but the locals say that in the South Island, it dips even lower to about 0 degrees. Aunty Jeannette laughed at the amount of winter clothes we brought, and the family kindly borrowed us some trendy thick winter jackets!

Part of the house... Looks small, but it has four bedrooms.

Later in the night drove around the Auckland city weaving around busy streets capturing night life from the car, then we drove up Mt. Eden taking in 360degree of Auckland’s night scape. Having caught eyes with so many street names find that New Zealand has uniquely splattered Maori names all over. It does sound a bit weird and funny tho - Tukaka, Te Awamutu, Punakaiki, Kaitaia, Whakapapa…

We’re retiring for the night… can’t wait till tomorrow…the adventure begins!
