People see, though they don’t say it

How would we know the extent of our influence on other people’s lives, the impact of our actions and speech, the degree of our imprint in another soul? I figure we will only know given two occasions, three make it.

  1. If we make it a point to tell one another how much they mean to us
  2. If something major happens and people are forced to see
  3. When we breathe our last breath, return to our Maker and someone speaks an eulogy at our funeral
I’m not about to write an entry on death and our existence, but instead life and our existence. I was challenged to revaluate my life after a series of personal encounters shared by a friend. The encounters are too personal to describe, but end of the story was that my friend stood up for the truth and people were forced to see, to experience and to speak.

And those who were around saw –TRUTH prevailing, while those who were wallowing in their own mud took courage to make a change for themselves, while innocent people saw that above all the merry making and daily routines – there was indeed something powerful when we stand up for what we believe in.

So does standing up for TRUTH involve any risk? If there’s no risk involved, then everyone would do it. But because there is a price to pay; people dilute, weave their way around and compromise on living in truth. Isn’t that a reminder that a life in Christ is not a bed of roses?

A eulogy will be too late to change anything, if we have not taken our days on earth seriously. Or you and I may have received a letter, an email , a verbal comment about how much we have impacted another life – it’s not time to stop, for the journey ahead is long and the Standard we uphold remain the same – so continue. Or some may have fleetingly allowed days to go by without having a thought about the way we position ourselves; thankfully it’s not too late.
Like I always say (or have heard someone say) –
My life is a gift from God, how I live it is a gift unto Him.
