Design fun...

How often would you have the chance to design a room that at totally no costs at all?!
I was delighted and esctatic at the offer of designing both the speech and drama rooms.

ROOM ONE

ROOM TWO

"Just buy whatever you need and then pass me the receipt"
"Ok, i'd type out a budget plan for you together with a rought idea of what i want to do"
"No need lar, just go ahead with it, i'm sure it will be fine"

So begun my quest of designing the rooms. What better place then to take a stroll around IKEA to catch some design vibes. Then i ended up walking out with a bag full of stuff.

At the cashier:
Two guys waiting behind us whispered ... " Eh i think this girl is setting up some children's thing lar, look at her bag"
The LOUD and SCREAMING colors speak for themselves!

After about 5 hours of putting the stuff up, climbing on and off tables and chairs, nailing in stuff and cutting templates... it was done! (with much appreciated help from Natasha)
Here goes, (i'm no Nate Berkus or Debbie Travis tho...)

ROOM ONE
Notice the hanging mobile on the far right (took us hours cutting and stringing them together)
Oh the yellow flourescent wall pocket is my mysterious goody bag... Keeps the kids wondering:)

ROOM TWO
The circle like thing on the wall was a result of cut up circles from a humongous mouse pad... At first i wanted to design the room as if the kids are walking into a galactic zone, but i couldn't find enought stuff (the room is still needing some gloe in the dark stars on the ceiling)
The second pic is my Story Corner. The Lady Bug on the floor is the stage for the story teller. Kids love pretending and having an imaginary space to entertain their roles!

ANy other suggestions, i don't mind input... :) I'm sure as time goes by there'll be more things. Christmas time is round the corner... hmm more to design!
