HEADLINES: STOMP turns everyday sounds into an explosive tapestry of rhythm!!!

21.09.2005 – Posting of the night after the event - *AN OFFICIAL HANGOVER*



It’s 11.24pm (20.09.2005) I am wide awake and my adrenaline is still pumping. I can’t get over the fact that sights and sounds from the clinking and clanging of bizarre eccentric STOMP is still alive in every fiber of my body! To my wildest amazement I am not a tad bit disappointed at their performance despite lifting my expectations sky high hours before the show! It’s worth my every cent!

Pitter patter, whack, tack, thump, whamp!!! Swish swish, clap, snap, slap, click… slide, beat, bam, slam, doink, boink, drip, drip, swoosh!!! It’s a rush of energy, my heart thumping to the beat and I’m trying to recollect the last few hours.

Plastic bags, water barrels, rubber tubes, suckers, metal sinks, wooden boxes, brooms, mops, pots and pans, newspapers, basketball, sticks and sand, hands and feet, forks and knives, Zippo lighters and matchsticks, chairs and shoes …

Sitting in my chair, trying to flounce the urge to stand up and dance, I thought maaannnn it’s a journey of discovery of everyday objects – reintroduced! Screamed and cheered like how we would for camporama : ) I literally walked out of that hall tapping on everything possible!!!

I’m inspired, I’m reminded of the rendition not too long ago, I’m intoxicated with the style and passion, I’m fascinated by the creative mind, I’m craving and aching to recreate the scene again! Anyone for a remake of STOMP?

DEB: “Sure wish it wasn’t just 1 ½ hours, but I absolutely had a time of my life!”
