A view into the rugged lil kitchen where yummy food is dished out! "TAI CHOW"
And so another after work quest! I guess this wouldn't be a quest if i was still studying but when i'm stuck in front of this BOX 8 hours a day, whatever that's outdoors becomes a quest. Lil expeditions i look forward too:)
Right... this time to Petaling Street since my sister wanted to buy shoes.
Given that out stomachs were growling, we walked our way to the nearest restaurant in sight. Much to our dismay the nearest restaurant was deserted! Didn't want to take the risk of tasting appalling food. Not far away we spotted a crowd of people busy slurping down their Hokkien Mee and Hor Fun. Guess we found the right one this time around!
This run down, rugged shoplot lay hidden amidst the fruit vendors waving their langsats and oranges. The crowd waiting in line was not surprising. Their Hokkien Mee was very yummy indeed. Nicely coated with black sauce and the taste was not too overpowering. What i found interesting was the way they operated. Since the kitchen was just that small shoplot of a space, they set up tables across the street and stationed one other person there to get the customers seated. Then as they made orders the guy would walky-talky over to his friend in "base kitchen". As dishes were ready, there would be a 'runner' delivering the dishes to specific tables! Hahaha... this is one of the intriguing things about Malaysian 'lifestyle' if you would allow me. To use every possible means and way to make business!
